UN Weapons Inspectors Can't Even Count To 10

Deadly chemical weapons discovered at the United Nations.

ABCNews has learned that United Nations weapons inspectors discovered six to eight vials of a dangerous nerve gas, phosgene, as they were cleaning out offices at a U.N. building in New York Thursday morning.

How hard is it to count to 8? Use your fingers for God's sake! Do their lips move when they read too? Can they read at all?

Aren't these the guys who are supposed to be keeping track of Iranian uranium enrichment? How many bombs do the North Koreans have?

Yikes!

So why were there containers of phosgene at a UN building in New York?

The UN wants WMDs because the UN sees itself as a government and envies govts that have "broken a few eggs".

According to the Left, this now gives us moral authority to invade...New York.
*sigh*

Erm...

"Actually, it's the IAEA that deals with Iran's uranium enrichment, not UNMOVIC. UNMOVIC doesn't even formally exist anymore, since it was set up to deal with Iraq and was disbanded on June 27 of this year. Which is why, of course, they were cleaning out the offices in the first place."

Anyone feel like coming back to the reality-based community?

They were using CG as a pesticide. Everyone knows how pestky those U.N. offices are.

Yeah, I know when I clean out my office, I'm always finding various vials of poison laying about.

It's odd that UNMOVIC wasn't created until 1999, but the vials have been identified as being inventory from a 1996 inspection. Kinda careless.

It is possible that 2 of the vials were not labeled properly and are only suspected of containing phosgene, thereby validating the "6 to 8 vials" comment.

No.

I recommend everyone vote for Ron Paul in the poll on this page (go up to the top of the page on the right)

Hmmm. I don't know who Jim is, but suspect that he is either a UN drone or a journalist. Who else would be fluent in the arcanea of UN bureaucracy? It's all the UN.

I'm betting that he's a journalist though. Who else could say, "Your report has only one fact, and you made it up!"

Only a journalist believes that a fact is something that can be made up.

Michael,
I've been watching your post catch on across the blogosphere. The political operatives have been busy trying to downplay and discredit it. One of my favorite serial posters "opinion" is that YOUR entire post is wrong because ABC wrongly reported that phosgene is a nerve gas, therefore the entire discussion is invalid. It's not a nerve gas, but causes lung failure. As if one kind of death is safer than another.

The Post never refers to a specific agency of the UN but to the UN in general. But then the UN is not responsible for anything. They just pretend to be.

Snake Oil Baron: You have it right. The agencies of the UN are constantly changing. It is always the recently past orginization that is responsible. Never the current ones. Doesn't matter that they are the same people. Just disolve this one and invent a new one, to cover up idiotic situations, like this one.

Right guys, UNMOVIC, IAEA, what's the difference. They're all a bunch of incompetents. Look at Hans Blix, for example; couldn't find WMDs if his life depended on it. Good thing we ignored him and found all them WMDs on our own!

I remember Bush was looking even under his desk in the Oval Office for the WMDs, remember guys?

"No WMD's here!"

That's how hard the WMD's were to find! So we can't expect incompetents at the UN like Hans Blix (aka Mr. Islamofascist Appeaserizer) to find them if even a super competent dude like George Bush can't discover them, now can we.
