Politics from the Palouse to Puget Sound

About Tom

Tom Forbes was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, but has called the rolling hills of the Palouse region of Washington state home for the last decade. A 1985 graduate of Ferrum College with a degree in International Relations, Tom has been active in politics since he was a delegate to the 1993 Virginia Republican Party Convention, the largest ever deliberative body assembled in the Western world at the time. He currently serves as a Precinct Committee Officer in the Whitman County (WA) Republican Party. Tom was the Whitman County coordinator for Mike Huckabee for President 2008, has managed/advised several campaigns for local and statewide office, and is very involved in local grassroots activism in support of individual freedoms, free market solutions and property rights.

Tom is the founder and editor of Palousitics, which he started in June 2005. Palousitics has been consistently ranked as one of the most influential political blogs in Washington by BlogNetNews.com. Tom served a stint as editor of Red County - Whitman County (WA) and is also a frequent contributor at conservative blogs NW Digest and Sound Politics. He has spoken at the Evergreen Leadership Conference and the Washington State Republican Convention and also frequently guest lectures at the University of Idaho on economic, land use, and environmental issues.
