I was thinking about saying something about this. Over the last decade I have heard students bragging about WSU being a party school.

That is like saying the jail in Colfax is the Hilton. Not even close.

This place is tame. If the students who go here think this is big time partying, they went to a very, very lame high school.

I bet their mom's could drink them under the table. I bet they even drink winecoolers.

One list WSU didn't do so well on this year was the U.S. News & World Report list of best colleges. WSU fell from No. 112 to No. 118, 8th in the PAC-10.

Hmmmm. When I see that the headline writers couldn't even accurately transcribe the number 118 from the text to the headline, I can understand why we dropped a few places.

Scotty,
This school is worse than lame when it comes to partying. It's lame and deluded. The yahoos drink a few Busch Light and think they're big timing it.

I am embarrassed for them when I see them at Dissmores with their pathetic party supplies. I've overheard frat boys in line discussing the merits of different fruity malt beverages and they weren't talking in terms of the effect upon or preference by the opposite sex. I wanted to barf! Well, ok; to be fair, I want to barf whenever I think of drinking such a thing. But then I've got a time tested and well worn Y chromosome. I'm not very sensitive and political correctness is right out the window.

The only ones that really party around here are the parents on their weekends and the fans in the coliseum lot on football weekends.

You can thank the students who are too lame to stand up for their rights. How many were at last the city council meeting last night when the open container ordinance was being pushed through? How many were there to protest Ted Weatherly's blatant attempt to suppress first amendment rights with his "shouting ordinance?"

C'mon WSU students. Show some pride in yourselves. Or would it take you away from your Play Station and Busch Light for too long?
