Update on Replacement for Rep. David Buri

I have learned more information concerning the process to replace resigning 9th District State Representative David Buri.

According to Jeremy Deutsch of the Washington State Republican Party, all Washington 9th Legislative District Republican Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) elected or appointed sixty (60) days prior to the official date of vacancy (November 1) will be eligible to vote in this appointment process.

The Washington State Law that governs the process for appointing a replacement in a vacancy occurring in the office of a joint representative was changed by Amendment 96, 2003 House Joint Resolution No 4206 and was approved November 4, 2003. Other factors that affect this process are the Washington State Republican Party bylaws.

If you are a Republican PCO, stand by for word on the date and location for the special PCO meeting.

As I have stated before, I will support Joe Schmick is he decides to run, and if you are a PCO, I urge you to do the same.
