Figures Don't Lie, but Liars Figure

Christine Gregoire continues to campaign around the state making the claim that she inherited a $2.5 billion dollar deficit and has turned it around to a $800 million dollar surplus. I understand that she was on KQQQ just this morning telling the same nonsense. Who does she think she is kidding when there is so much information to the contrary? Gregoire must be gambling that we are such hicks in Eastern Washington that we won't be able to make the correlation between her mandated state hiring freeze and the upcoming $2.7 billion dollar deficit. She must also think we have the memory of gnat.

The funny part though is that she is the ONLY ONE saying it! I haven't seen any lefty blogs, the state party, or anyone else touch her figures. Apparently no one else is that deluded, except Gregoire, which is a relief.

It was also funny on Saturday when the Governor who signed the 9.5 cent gas tax into law in 2005, giving us the highest tax in the country, blamed Washington's high gas prices on Dubya's "failed policies."

The Queen's latest ads blaming Dino for the gas tax hike are funnier. Even the Seattle Times had to call bullshit.

That really is the strange part. I can't figure out if she has her head in a bucket or what. Even her own website doesn't back her up.

I have noticed a trend among leftists to claim that up is down, black is white, cooling is warming, Joe Biden is not a D.C. insider, etc. There must be a mental health term for it.

April: "There must be a mental health term for it."

I believe DSM-IV refers to this as "rectal-cranial envelopment."

April, at least one eminent psychiatrist agrees with you.

However, in Gregoire's case, with her false claims of business friendliess and fiscal responsibility, she is proving Ann Coulter right:

The common wisdom holds that "both parties" have to appeal to the extremes during the primary and then move to the center for the general election. To the contrary, both parties run for office as conservatives. Once they have fooled the voters and are safely in office, Republicans sometimes double-cross the voters. Democrats always do.

Hey, wait a minute... could the Queen simply be utilizing socialist math?

It goes like this: if you swell government payrolls, then since all capital is actually a social phenomenon and therefore being property of "the people", the greater government spending is actually an increase in assets since it has been "liberated" from those thieving rich and allowed to "flow free."

Kool-aid, anyone?
