Theses pictures of the scene in downtown Moscow yesterday afternoon were submitted by a Palousitics reader. The trailer being towed by an Atlas Sand and Rock dump truck unhitched as the truck turned left off Washington Street onto Third Street. The trailer jumped onto the sidewalk and plowed over a tree. A bike chained to the tree was left suspended in the air. It's a miracle that VW van wasn't smashed. Third Street was closed while authorities cleaned up the mess.
