That's the good news from Fritz Fiedler, an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Idaho. He gave a presentation titled "Modeling the Palouse Water Resource System."
His models, however, were self-admittedly fuzzy, simple, and incomplete. That's too bad, because this is how hysteria tends to get created. One of the models Fiedler showed had the aquifers running out of water in 15 years. He did caution, "but that is probably wrong." Then why present it? The media is here, and that is sure to get reported widely and used in arguments against growth.
