One Language, One Flag, One Nation! Camera Shy?

Clearly, some people are camera shy.

UPDATE FROM WSUCOLLEGEREPUBLICAN

The $40 bike returns!!!

UPDATE FROM TOM:

Is this guy Alex McDonald with his famous $40 bike? Alex McDonald is on the right in the picture. If you search for him on the WSU web site, he's clearly not media shy, especially when it comes to writing letters to the editor bashing Wal-Mart and calling the Pullman police racists.

Is that Alex McDonald and his famous $40 bike?

BTW, it's WAC 504-26-217

Unauthorized use of electronic or other devices.

Unauthorized use of electronic or other devices: Making an audio or video record of any person while on university premises without his or her prior knowledge, or without his or her effective consent when such a recording is of a private conversation or of images taken of a person(s) at a time and place where she or he would reasonably expect privacy and where such images are likely to cause injury or distress. This includes, but is not limited to, surreptitiously taking pictures of another person in a gym, locker room, or restroom, but does not include taking pictures of persons in areas which are considered by the reasonable person to be open to public view, such as Martin Stadium or the Glenn Terrell Mall.

There you go. Don't want to be filmed, don;t talk to someone with a camera. Simple.

Wow... thanks for giving me my good laugh for the day! :)

Talk about paranoid. Did he actually go up to the cop? I bet the cop told him to "Piss off".
That was the famous $40 bike? It looks too good to be $40. He probably bought at Wal-Mart if it was that cheap, he just won't admit it.

I guess no one explained to him that "consent" involves only an open statement by the person making a recording that a microphone is present. It would only be a violation of the relevant WAC if he did not know the microphone was on and recording.

But, hey, if people like Leonard can cite made up laws to try and excercise arbitrary police authority, why not everyone else? If nothing else, I guess we can take this as proof that students are learning certain lessons at WSU.

One other thing I'd like to add: when the police have to exercise their authority to subdue and arrest a member of a PC favorite group for his crimes, Alex questions their authority, but when it suits his own purposes, he tries to rely upon police authority to back up his demands.

Hypocritical? Absolutely.

Exactly Paul! I don't know what's funnier:

"I don't want to be filmed or recorded, but rather than just walk away, I will act like a primadonna and talk to you for five minutes, and then come back again and talk to you for another five minutes"

or

"Help me Mr. Racist Cop, the evil Republicans are filming me!!"

Obviously he is hoping to provoke something out of this. Too bad. This is not quite like filming inthe SeaGals locker room.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That makes two good laughs this has given me today! Thanks, Tom!

Lol, paul is right. What a hypocrite. Who wants to write a letter to the editor? I really hope he gets on to this site and understands how much of a hypocrite he is.

I'd also like to thank Tom for pretty much knowing everyone that comes up in my videos. Speechless.

Has anyone taken a good look at Martin Boston? He is another CES employee/victim looking for a $$$ cause $$$. It must be his worst career nightmare to be assigned to Pullman, we don't have much money to sue. All we have is this public university and Schweitzer.

He seems to have disappeared following the forwarding of 4th degree assault charges to the county prosecutor for his part in the taser incident:

Alex McDonald has 4th degree assault charges against him? Is that what I am reading? That link does not work either.

Side note: We should have a palousitics get together before the WSU students leave.

No, Martin Boston is facing the assault charges. As far as I know, McDonald wasn't involved in the incident.

WSUCR -

Think link is working for me. It has to be cut and pasted into the URL bar. If that still doesn't work, just go to the Daily Evergreen website, click on the editorial blog, then look for the "taser cam" entry. The reports are couched in the page containing the taser cam video.

And no, I was referring to Boston in response to April's question. Mcdonald only barfed up the usual "all cops are racist" lefty claptrap, but he was not involved in the incident.

Paul E. Zimmerman said...

Oh, and I think another gathering before school ends would be a good idea! :)

It wasn't too hard on the McDonald ID. He speaks like he writes.

There's a clearly identifiable nexus of liberals in Pullman. It's always the same group of people confronting the CRs, calling the Pullman police racists, fighting Wal-Mart, protesting the war, and bashing the WASL it seems.

If he paid $40 for that bike, might it be hot?

I was thinking the same thing. :)

Maybe he had a good Christmas. Err, sorry... "Holiday."

McDonald did say his bike was "used."

But I wonder if he realizes by having a Schwinn, he is participating in a practice he claims to abhor by owning a piece of what TV Reed calls "cheap, Chinese crap." From the December 3, 2004 edition of the Washington Post:

"Today's [Schwinn] comes from China, where the average factory worker makes less than a dollar an hour. It is a symbol of a different sort -- an illustration of how global economic forces and the sometimes clumsy responses of U.S. companies transformed middle-class jobs into low-wage work both at home and abroad...

About 75 miles away, in Madison, Pacific Cycle manages the Schwinn brand from a sleek office with just 80 workers. Pacific, part of a Canadian conglomerate, has a couple of hundred employees in California warehouses, taking in the bikes imported from the seven Chinese factories where most Schwinns are produced.

From California, the bikes fan out to mass merchants such as Wal-Mart. Once there, cashiers making less than $10 an hour ring up the latest Sting Ray at prices much cheaper than the original."

Self-righteousness is a very tricky game. The hypocrisy pulls up so quick on campus, you need a snowplow.

Sorry, that should be "piles up."

Yup. I've seen the gross hypocrisy myself. They have different rules for themselves. A very prominent member of PARD refused a high priced, high quality American made tire that was in my inventory. He preferred instead to order and wait for a Chinese, lower quality tire. He never inquired as to my pay rate or the pay rate of the Chinese worker. Meanwhile, while the tire was on order, this PARD member had a letter published in the Daily News condenming Wal-Mart's selling of Chinese products. I guess that was my realization that PARD was a fraud and they really couldn't care less about Pullman merchants. PARD is anti-Wal-Mart, no matter if they have to burn down Pullman to win.
