In Pullman, the city's Proposition 1 to improve parks, paths and sidewalks was enjoying a substantial lead. Initial returns Tuesday night has the $2.2 million bond receiving 2,392 votes in favor of the measure. The number of "No" votes was at 936.

Whitman County election supervisor Debbie Hooper said the Auditor's Office received 2,000 mail-in balltos today, which will be counted and the numbers released Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The office expect to receive another 2,000 in the coming days. It's unclear how many of those ballots are from voters in the city of Pullman.
