The Hypocrisy Of It All

There was a protest on campus Monday in connection with "National Day of Action for Immigrant Justice." On hand (at least based on photos from yesterday's Moscow-Pullman Daily News) were Jose Alamillo (left) and Don Orlich (above, under the blue umbrella) of PARD.

Let's review some of PARD's arguments against Wal-Mart, shall we?:

  • Wal-Mart leads to the intrusion of "undesirable social classes" who commit crimes.

  • Wal-Mart engages in unethical business practices, such as the hiring of illegal aliens.

  • Low-paid Wal-Mart employees are a drain on taxpayer-funded social services such as Medicaid.

  • So, if Wal-Mart does it, that's bad. If illegal immigrants do it, that's good. It all makes sense to me now.

Yeah, these people look friendly and happy.

Can you imagine that they claim to represent Pullman and Whitman County? Ummm, no. They don't represent me or anyone I know.
