"The enemy among us"

A letter to the editor from today's Moscow-Pullman Daily News:

Enough already.

The communications wing of the Pullman Alliance for Responsible Development (aka Cynthia Hosick et. al.) is outdoing itself using Daily News columns to trash (write about) Wal-Mart.

Why don’t you put a lid on the number of repetitious letters you’ll print on either side of this controversy?

I don’t think it would dissuade the antis if you just charged them space rates. PARD obviously is awash in funds. Hey, they’ve got the taxpayers bearing the financial brunt of their campaign: Hearings, hearings, and more hearings.

It would be interesting to know how many members of PARD voted for the Pullman council members who approved Wal-Mart’s application to build an outlet here. Oops.

As Pogo said, “We’ve met the enemy and it is us.”

Richard B. Fry, Pullman
Take note PARDners. This is how the majority of Pullman residents feel. Unfortunately, most of them choose to remain silent.

Everyone is frustrated by Washington States legal process and they don't understand why it is taking so long. Mostly, they want to ask PARD, "Just 'cause you can doesn't mean you should". Stop it already! PARD is abusing the law to serve their own self-absorption and public self-importance. PARD activist Don Orlich's picture at the illegal immigrant rally at WSU in todays Daily News is a case in point.
