Redmond, WA – A new independent poll released today by Rasmussen Reports shows the Washington gubernatorial race is a statistical dead heat with Rossi receiving 47 percent of the vote, and Gregoire 46 percent.
“There will be many polls released between now and November. But what this independent poll confirms is that this race is, and will remain, extremely close and competitive,” said Jill Strait, Rossi spokesperson. “This poll is in line with the majority of other polls conducted on this race over the past year, including from our pollster and the Gregoire pollster. Dino remains popular with Independents and younger voters, and I believe the desire for change will help us win this November by a recount-proof majority of votes.”
The poll surveyed 500 likely voters on February 28, 2008. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.5 percent.
