Palunchitics

We had a very nice turnout of 10 for our first monthly lunch get-together at the Hilltop Restaurant in Pullman today. I'm going to put in a shameless plug here for my friends and Hilltop owners Ron and Barb Wachter, as they are good Republicans and steadfast Wal-Mart supporters. The food was great, particularly the pulled pork BBQ, and the view and atmosphere, as always, were excellent.

We all wished bon voyage to Paul Zimmerman and Barenjager, who will be shortly moving on down the road, but will luckily still stay in touch on the blog.

The conversation was lively, ranging from the expected (global warming, Nancy Chaney, the fun and easiness of baiting local leftists) to more mundane topics, pulling from the diverse backgrounds our group brought to the table (the best way to kill boxelder bugs, "sky islands" in Arizona, plans for the WSU branch campus system, ICBM silos, etc.)

If you couldn't make it this time, I hope you will be able to join us at the Hilltop on April 9. I am considering having a lunch in Colfax (Smokin' Papa's BBQ is really good) sometime to be a little closer to the Palousitics regulars out in the western part of the county. Maybe that could be in coordination with a county commissioner's meeting. We'll see.
