Romney Rockets Ahead

In the Palousitics Presidential Straw Poll, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has pulled ahead of Rudy Giuliani 31% to 25%. John McCain is a distant third at 13%.

This tracks with recent national trends.

It was reported earlier this week that Romney has raised over $20 million for his campaign, more than any other Republican candidate. And a new Zogby poll shows Romney leading now in New Hampshire.

Here's a note for you college students (especially you CRs) from mittroots.org:
Romney for President, Inc. invites current college students to apply for our 10-week summer internship program at campaign headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. Help Governor Mitt Romney create a new American dream by working to elect him as the next president of the United States. Applicants are asked to submit their resume, a cover letter explaining their interest in joining our efforts, and to provide at least two references, one of whom should be one of their college professors. Applications are due by April 2, 2007. Candidates will be notified of a decision by May 1, 2007. Preference will be given to applicants who are available full time. Please submit applications to internships@mittromney.com. Thank you for your interest in obtaining an internship with Romney for President, Inc.

I know we hear about McCain and Rudy all the time but to me they are RINO's. I do not know Romney personally but I do not trust any politician from the state..err.. People's Republic of Massachusetts.
I should really research the other Republican candidates. We need a true conservative Republican, not a centrist or RINO.

Sorry, but he is a mormon. I assume one of the reasons he got all that money was from his "church". Policy tends to have an influence from the Presidents religous beliefts. Dubya is a Christian... and you can see that in his policy's. Bottom line, he doesn't have my vote and with the help of the WSU College Republicans he won't have a lot more votes.

I know there are some who don't like Romney's Mormonism. Personally, I'm not concerned by it. I happen to be a Southern Baptist, as is Mike Huckabee. But I will support whoever the party selects.

When it comes to presidential politics, my religion is that of Vince Lombardi: "Winning is not everything, it's the only thing." The possibility of another President Clinton for this country is too horrifying to contemplate.
