Make Your Pets Carbon Neutral

For only $8/year, you can make your pet as carbon neutral as Algore's mansion. It's a small price to pay for a clear conscience.

A company in Australia, Easy Being Green, is providing people an opportunity to let their farting cat "live guilt-free for a year" by charging cat owners $8 to make the pet carbon-neutral. All forms of flatulence contain methane, which is a greenhouse gas thought to contribute to climate change. Are we finally going a little overboard here? The company will spend the $8 on products that reduce emissions, such as energy-saving lightbulbs and water-saving shower heads, either in your house or elsewhere. The scheme can be applied to any product, animal or person, in fact, Jenny Cracknell was turned into a "carbon-neutral granny" last year for just $20. Her daughter had given her a gift certificate to offset two years' worth of flatulence. Mrs. Cracknell said, "I don't like to brag, but I actually don't have much flatulence...but when I do, I feel OK about it, because the damage to the planet has been offset."
