Illegal Kills Husky

The man who killed Rebecca Griego at the University of Washington before taking his own life Monday had been living in the United States illegally for more than 10 years, immigration officials said Wednesday.

Congratulations to everyone who wants people to come here illegally!

Thanks for the info Scotty. That is one bit of info the media omitted. They will blame the guy for stalking and they will blame guns but the media will never blame an illegal alien.

I'd like to use this post to introduce myself. I am Daniel F Schanze, Political Action Chairman of the Washington State University College Republicans. I am what you call the nemesis of liberals all over campus. Cheers.

This could be the most ridiculous post to date on this site... and sorry the media is reporting this 'illegal' tidbit here, and here, and here and... do I need to continue?

Welcome DFS, I'm sure you'll fit right in!

Nic,
I see you are back. Decided to come back after helping the polar bears from pseudo-global warming?

Nic,
I do not read Seattle papers, too much red ink from pinko writers. I usually get news out of Spokane or locally.

Nic what are you using to back up this statement "This could be the most ridiculous post to date on this site"?

Nic said...

No, no, no... it wasn't polar bears, it was Edith's Checkerspot Butterflies in California, get it straight man. It will be a tragedy if those go extinct... and If you're just getting your news from Spokane and locally, well that explains quite a bit to me.

just a matter of personal opinion scotty, based on all of the posts i've read to date.

Nice try Nic. The post is about illegals. One of your very own Pullman residents was nearly killed from a knife from an illegal. Unforunately, neither illegal could be proved to have pulled the knife. Neither perpetrator was supposed to be here. The only person who was supposed to be here was the victim.

Nic,
Your reading of Seattle news sources tells me a lot about you. You must be from Bellevue. It shows.

Nic said...

Ahh SM, excellent deductive reasoning! unfortunately you're about 3000 miles off.

Scotty said...

SM Bellevue is fairly conservative. Issaquah would have been a more realistic thought. Or Seattle itself.

Nic, I can see how being straight-forward about actual illegal immigration damages could be considered bad. It makes it harder to actually argue against.

Apparently Tom's post about logical fallacies didn't make much of an impact on you. Can you see how your comments might be guilty of hasty generalization?

Scotty said...

No way Jose! ;)

My post was a simple one. No hasty generalization. If we cared more about illegal immigration and worked hard to eject illegal immigrants, that lady would not be dead. I have to believe that in the ten years he was around the US we would have found him.

A US citizen is dead because someone was in the country illegally! Simple as that.

Knowing Scotty, I'm pretty sure he is not making the sweeping generalization that all illegals are murderers.

But they are de facto criminals, and the laws should be enforced. In this case, if they laws of the land had been enforced instead of the politically correct nitwittery of Seattle police not being able to check on immigration status, a murder would not have occured.

Would ending illegal immigration end murder in the U.S.? Of course not. But if we could prevent even one tragedy like this by enforcing our current immigration laws, shouldn't we try?

Tom that is the most rational, even handed post I have ever read from you. Keep up the good work just be careful that the jackals don't stop eating their young long enough to realize you may be going soft.

As far as this illegal immigrant who killed people here in the states is concerned if convicted may he never see the light of day.

(Period)

But there is a very important piece other than the fact that he was here in an undocumented manner. He was from England he came here through O'hare airport he didn't swim a river or jump a fence. And even if the laws as they are written were enforced this man would have still committed this crime. Because police must have reasonable belief that a person was in this country illegally, (When have you ever heard of a single ICE or INS raid to include British citizenry? I haven't heard of one but I'm not saying it hasn't happened.) And I would further extrapolate that this now shows the complete waist of time building a fence would be? Yes? Or, are you willing to admit that perhaps if we are to be fair then we must also build a fence across Canada, the ports systems, airports, and every other possible entry point, and not just the Mexican boarder. Oh right and Native lands must be fenced off too because those darned immigrants could get straight to a casino and then sneak in. Right? Since we are under attack right? We must completely isolate ourselves in our air tight US cocoon. Maybe then we'll be safe right? When will you right wingers actually use common sense and stop and think about the world you live in and the world you may live in, in the very near future. Perhaps if we had social health care all you repubs could afford those glasses to fix your near sightedness.

DA: "He was from England he came here through O'hare airport he didn't swim a river or jump a fence."

He came in on a 90 day visa and overstayed it. Illegal is illegal.

DA: "And even if the laws as they are written were enforced this man would have still committed this crime."

He entered 10 years ago. The crime happened recently. If the laws had been enforced, no, it wouldn't have happened.

This would mean he would have had to have been caught by INS first, but...

DA: "Because police must have reasonable belief that a person was in this country illegally"

They knew he was, since he overstayed a visa, but they couldn't find him. If the Seattle police were allowed to check someone's status, however, maybe they would have.

DA: "And I would further extrapolate that this now shows the complete waist of time building a fence would be?"

It's "waste." And no, it's not a waste of time. There are millions of people coming across our southern border illegally. If we build a fence, we can keep many of them from crossing as easily, and maybe even at all. Exceptional instances like this one in Seattle do not change the truth of that.

DA: "Or, are you willing to admit that perhaps if we are to be fair then we must also build a fence across Canada, the ports systems, airports, and every other possible entry point, and not just the Mexican boarder."

It's "border."

Ridiculous. Solutions only need to be applied where problems exist. Also, there's no issue of fairness involved; it's a matter of which of our two neighbors allows (even encourages) millions of people to cross our border illegally.

DA: "When will you right wingers actually use common sense and stop and think about the world you live in and the world you may live in, in the very near future."

Please share with all of us your sensible, logical, and grand vision for the world. We've heard plenty from you about how wrong we all are, so now we would like to hear how we may change. Please, share with us your apparent wisdom.
