U.S. Senate candidate Dino Rossi announced on Tuesday that he has raised roughly $1.4 million since entering the race for U.S. Senate one month ago.Incumbent Democratic Senator Patty Murray raised $1.6 million in the second quarter. Considering Dino did not make his candidacy official until late May, just barely a month before the June 30 reporting deadline, those numbers are astounding.
"The support from donors across the state is inspiring and indicates people here in Washington State are ready for a U.S. Senator who represents families and small businesses instead of DC special interests and the Democratic Leadership who want to keep spending and growing government,” said Rossi.
The second fundraising quarter officially closed on June 30, 2010, just four weeks after Rossi entered the race. During those four weeks, Rossi raised roughly $1.4 million from over 5,000 donors.
