Life In Hell, Part Three

When I got home today (after spending 3 hours shoveling this morning before work) I found that my neighbor's tree had come down under the weight of the snow.

Count your blessings. I just talked to some people from Deary and they reported that they have 2.5 feet of new snow. This was from a storm that was forecast to bring 4-7 inches.

I'm always thankful that I don't live in Deary.

I had a similar experience when I lived in Genesee. Back in 1982, we had a snowstorm that dropped about 9 inches in Pullman, but buried us in about 30 inches, with 4 and 5 foot drifts.

Think that's bad..

We've been TRAPPED in Colton, yes stuck literally 20 minutes from Pullman, Moscow, or the LC Valley, for 3 DAYS.

The roads/Highway in and out of here are officially CLOSED.

Good thing we stocked up before the snow hit.

During that 1981-82 winter I referenced, we were stuck for a week. Shortly after the first of the year, we had a 17 inch snowfall followed by -32 temperatures. Then it got windy. We lived just off highway 95 and it was closed for a full week because the drifts would just fill in right behind the plows.
That winter sucked and stood as my standard for a crappy winter, until this one.
