PBS Construction Ground Breaking

Word is that Pullman Building Supply was going to wait on construction until WalMart was built, but now the word is that PBS wants to have their new store built before the Home Depot or Lowes gets built. That said...

Pullman Building Supply is going to have a ground breaking on their new site located next to the city cemetery on Bishop Blvd. There will be presumably a large number of contractors in pickup trucks, as well as larger trucks driving on Bishop Blvd, only a hop-skip-and-jump from the hospital and near the schools. Oh the humanity! Will someone please think of the children?

This new site will take away the serenity of the graveyard. This 15-acre location with a 140,000 square foot building on Bishop Blvd, which is so overcrowded with cars - a near-gridlock situation - that people who need to get to the hospital are going to die en route trying to make their way to the emergency room doors, yet at the same time the cars will travel so fast that the children in the schools on Pioneer hill will get run over on a daily basis.

These are some of horrors I have learned about over the last couple years if any large developments on Bishop Blvd takes place. Isn’t there some local, grassroots alliance that cares about Pullmans’ responsible development? Or do we only have anti-WalMart groups in Pullman?

Scotty,
Think of this as positive. You drop off the bodies at the hospital and you can load up the drywall, lumber and tools on the trip back to Colfax.

Better yet, you can build your own coffin and then go to the hospital to die. How convenient!

Talking to one of the managers at Pullman Building supply he indicated that not only would they be breaking ground quickly, but they will become the flagship store rather than the Moscow store. Hmmmm....

Does this mean that I won't have to drive all the way to Moscow to restock my Mr. Beer supplies? :)

Paul, you would be correct. They intend to be bigger and be the main supplier for the Moscow store.
