Gregoire denies clemency for death row inmate - Spokesman.com - Sept. 8, 2010

That's what he gets for scheduling his execution so close to an election that's already looking bad for Democrats.

Gov. Chris Gregoire has denied clemency for Washington death row inmate Cal Coburn Brown.

Gregoire issued a statement today saying she found no basis to change the death sentence that was imposed by the jury.

Brown is scheduled to be executed early Friday for the 1991 torture and murder of 22-year-old Holly Washa, a Burien woman.

Michael,
It is unfortunate for him that this election cycle will likely be part of the cause for the state putting him to death. I don't think he got to be in charge of scheduling the timing of the event. Just sayin'...
