Target -- Much better than WalMart

I saw something today that reminded me how much better off our community would be with a Target. Yes, that is right, our community would benefit by having Target.

How many other mega-chain stores prohibit the Salvation Army from ringing their bells at Christmas Time? That is what Pullman needs. Why was it that WalMart is being rejected and Target is given a free pass?

Scotty,
The Salvation Army is a Christian orginization. As you well know, it's not politically correct to have Christian people representing Christmas.

Now April, we'll have to send you to diversity training. It's not Christmas, it's the "Winter Holiday".

John Gibson of Fox News has been doing a good job covering all this nonsense: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,175827,00.html

Target is not the only store that is on the "OK" list.

Moscow's liberals would rather have a Costco or Sam's Club.

Their mantra: Anything but Wal-Mart.

best,
Dale

Tom,
Congratulations on your first Town Crier editorial in yesterday's Daily News. It was well written and I enjoyed all of the specifics. The opposition can't argue with specific facts, they can only argue with emotional generalities. I look forward to more of your editorials.

Dale: Are you serious that some would prefer a Sam's Club over a Wal-Mart? Do they know that a "Sam's" is Sam Walton? LOL!

Thanks April! I hope by the time my next column rolls around, I can write about the Wal-Mart groundbreaking.

Dale,

If the libs in Moscow are like the ones in Pullman (and I'm sure they are), the "Merlot Democrats" (as you reported a few weeks back) want fancy foreign restaurants, wine bars, trendy coffee shops, and pricey boutique stores. The granola and Birkenstock crowd want organic food stores, used book shops, tattoo and piercing parlors, and "tobacco accessory" outlets.

In other words, liberals are "pro-growth", just not the growth of any kind of store that families with children will shop at and that only add about 25 cents to the sales tax base.

Wow, what a bunch of crap. "tobacco accessory" -- nothing more than a place for pot-heads to get their bongs to get high. Can you think of any reason all the windows are covered and you cannot see inside? Sorry, you touched a nerve there.

I have thought about going to one of them and boldly asking where I could buy some pot. Just be a total ass there. It was make my day.
