I'm sure the good doctor is not a hypocrite and has taken an oath of poverty. He probably can only access the internet through his local public library after traveling on the public bus system. He may not even allow himself that luxury, considering that free-enterprise Wal-Mart paid for most it.April E. It has been my experience that nonprofit healthcare rarely costs the consumer less than the for profit variety.

Since Wal Mart does have clinics, it seems the answer to my question might be obvious but I await your response before passing judgement.Barenjagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05519954543618604696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13796804.post-15776358625563528062007-05-14T17:13:00.000-07:002007-05-14T17:13:00.000-07:00Dr. Bennett: "It is only and all about money, and ...Dr. Bennett: "It is only and all about money, and Wal-Mart is only allowing "for profit operators" into the big box, no altruists need apply, and to hell with the uninsured Associates."

Ummm, yeah?

It's a business, not a charity.Paul E. Right here in America we have people who are trying to make a buck in the health industry!

Since I only have one side of the story, I can only speculate as to Wal-Mart's reasoning.
I would guess that the small number of Wal-Mart workers who do not have insurance are young, healthy late teen and early 20's workers. As I **hope** you know, this is the healthiest demographic, the individuals who need insurance the least. Could it be that Wal-Mart made the decision that the numbers of uninsured workers who would actually use the service did not warrant the investment? Or perhaps your goal is to turn Wal-Mart into inner-city types of clinics, where every drug-addicted prostitute and vagrant would have a place to get free health care?

Now I have question for you. Why should healthy, young workers be forced to give up pay increases in order to pay for unneeded and unwanted health insurance coverage. Their money would be better used in a savings account or a down payment on a house or even a new car. The health industry is doing it's level best to force everyone to pay into its system, removing any choice from the consumer.April E.
